In their current NPL match at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur on Monday, Kathmandu Gurkhas established a modest goal of 104 runs for Lumbini Lions.

Choosing to bat initially, Kathmandu had difficulty getting into a rhythm, being bowled out for 103 runs. Their innings was missing significant partnerships, as Bhim Sharki was the highest scorer, making 31 runs from 40 balls before being stumped by Arjun Saud off a delivery from Abhishek Gautam.

Other batsmen went out cheaply: Stephen Eskinazi made 13 runs, Stephen Eskinazi couldn’t score, Gerhard Erasmus got only 1 run, Sumit Maharjan 4 runs, and Rashid Khan 1 run. Inputs from Dan Douthwaite (21 runs), Pratik Shrestha (20 runs from 14 balls), and Karan KC (1 run) failed to stabilize the innings. Dipesh Kandel finished without scoring any runs.

The bowlers from Lumbini showcased a remarkable display. Saad Bin Zafar took 3 wickets, while both Ramon Simmons and Abhishek Gautam secured 2 wickets each. Surya Tamang and Bibek Yadav contributed one wicket each. Captain Rohit delivered two overs but did not take any wickets.
