Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) stated that it is preparing to hold its first men’s T10 cricket league from December 12 to 22. Although earlier efforts mostly concentrated on women’s cricket, the organization has long envisioned starting a T10 event.
SLC is now hopeful that the T10 event this December will be successfully organized with T Ten Global Sports as a partner. Six teams will compete in the tournament, one more than the five that have already taken part in the Lanka Premier League, the top T20 competition in the nation. International players are anticipated to join the teams following a player draft on November 10.
“I am sure that the first draft for the Lanka T10 Super League will produce an exciting and entertaining tournament,” said Shammi Silva, president of SLC, expressing his excitement. In addition to improving the Sri Lankan cricket schedule, this will give our players and supporters a fresh experience.
Given T10 Global Sports’ participation in Zimbabwe and the West Indies, picks for up-and-coming players from those countries will be made in the draft’s latter rounds in addition to the Sri Lankan players.
The eleven-day T10 competition fits perfectly between the finish of Sri Lanka’s second Test match in South Africa and the start of a white-ball series in New Zealand towards the end of December. The majority of Sri Lanka’s best male cricket players, if not all of them, will be able to play because to this scheduling.
Sri Lanka hopes to improve its cricket scene and provide spectators with entertaining, fast-paced matches with this innovative new format. It is anticipated that the partnership with T Ten Global Sports will increase the event’s visibility and level of competence internationally.
