“If the award criteria doesn’t give it to Vinicius as the winner, then those same criteria should point to Carvajal as the winner,” the club stated to AFP. “It is evident that Ballon d’Or-UEFA does not respect Real Madrid since this was not the case.
Furthermore, Real Madrid avoids situations in which it is not recognized.
In order to prevent press leaks, the Ballon d’Or organizers made the bold decision to keep the winner’s identity a secret until the very end this year.
