The ruling directing French champion Paris Saint-Germain to reimburse Kylian Mbappé for unpaid salaries of 55 million euros ($60 million) has been maintained by the French league’s appeals commission, the league announced on Friday.
Last month, the LFP’s legal commission found in Mbappé’s favor; however, PSG appealed, claiming it owed him nothing. On October 15, the two parties were heard once more, and the decision was not altered.
In an email to The Associated Press, the LFP stated, “The club (PSG) must pay him the parts of his salary he is claiming.” “This decision can be brought before the French soccer Federation’s executive committee, but it is not subject to (further) appeal.”
In his conflict with PSG, Mbappé had earlier turned down the commission’s offer of mediation, claiming that the team owed him three months’ pay and the final third of a loyalty incentive.
He scored a club-record 256 goals in seven years for PSG before joining Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer.

When Mbappé was sidelined before the 2023–24 season — after he decided not to renew his contract — PSG claimed that there was a verbal agreement whereby the player agreed to forfeit bonuses in order to rejoin the squad.
Deep conflicts caused Mbappé’s relationship with PSG to terminate, and during his final home game at Parc des Princes, several fans jeered him.
The France superstar has scored eight goals in 13 matches for Madrid before of Saturday’s showdown against archrival Barcelona.
After handing Mbappé the highest-paying contract in the club’s history, PSG was disappointed when he signed a new deal in 2022.
However, Mbappé thought that commitments to sign important players were broken, which infuriated him. He was paraded in front of supporters while brandishing a 2025 shirt when he signed the contract. According to reports, Mbappé was irritated by the contract’s expiration date of 2024, which included a player’s option for an additional season.
In June of last year, Mbappé shocked PSG by telling them he would not exercise the option for another year. PSG was forced to sell Mbappé because his contract was practically in its last year and they didn’t want to lose him for free when it ended.
In the midst of a heated transfer dispute in the summer of 2023, his PSG career might have come to an end. Mbappé was forced to practice with fringe players when he informed the club that he would not be extending, and he was excluded from a preseason tour to South Korea and Japan. He turned down a 300 million euro move to Saudi team Al-Hilal, despite PSG’s declaration that it would prefer to sell him rather than allow him to depart for free in 2024.
Mbappé was pulled out of PSG’s first league game of the season, but after discussions, he quickly made a comeback.
