Karnali Yaks defeat Lumbini Lions by five runs

Chasing the target of 129 runs, Lumbini managed to score 123 at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs

Karnali Yaks secured a five-run victory over Lumbini Lions in the current Nepal Premier League (NPL) at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, on Friday.

Karnali batted first, establishing a target of 129 runs. Karnali’s Will Bosisto was the top scorer with 45 runs from 30 balls, Arjun Bitalu added 25 runs, opener Babar Hayat scored 20 runs, and Chadwick Walton contributed 15 runs. Lions bowler Vikash Agri claimed the key 3 wickets, while Tilak Bhandari secured two, and Ramon Simmonds, Saad Zafar, and Rohit Paudel each grabbed one wicket.

Pursuing a goal of 129 runs, Lumbini was able to accumulate 123 runs while losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Tom Moores and Sundeep Jora formed a partnership of 51 runs, boosting the score, but the Lions failed to reach the target. Lions’ batsmen were dismissed as Ashutosh Ghiraiya scored 16 runs off 21 balls, Arjun Saud made 13, Rohit Paudel contributed 10, Ben Cutting had 1, Tilak Bhandari remained not out on 3, and Ramon Simmonds finished with 4. Saad Zafar was dismissed for 16 runs.

Zeeshan Maqsood of Yaks claimed two wickets. Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Bipin Sharma, and Will Bosisto each claimed one wicket.
